We recently talked about John Haack becoming the lightest powerlifter in history to achieve 1000.5kg total and now another record has been broken. Tamara Walcott @plussize_fitqueen4.0 pulled off the heaviest deadlift of all time in the women’s category.
During the 2021 Showdown Powerlifting Meet, Tamara successfully pulled off a 288kg / 636lbs deadlift, which is the heaviest deadlift ever in the women’s category. What’s even more impressive is the fact that it was a raw deadlift. Meaning Tamara did not use deadlift suit for her world record deadlift.
Hailing from Kansas City, Missouri, Tamara has a history of pushing an insane amount of weight. On August 19, 2021, Tamara did a 251kg / 555lbs raw deadlift for three reps. Benchpress is also one of her strengths as she successfully benched 164kg / 363lbs during the 2021 Showdown Powerlifting meet.
In a thank you note on her Instagram, Tamara thanked her coach Daniel Fox @dfantasticmrfox for training her since before 2018. She started off her winning streak by deadlift more than 300 pounds three years ago and now she holds the record for the heaviest deadlift of all time by a woman. Perseverance indeed conquers all.
